Pakistan Deluge: What Is Causing Mass Flooding in South Asia?

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2022: Folks, the word in international media is that one-third of Pakistan is under water, and the lives of over 30 million people have been uprooted and set adrift. This may be hurricane season, but this is truly bizarre. Flooding in Pakistan and Bangladesh is far from unusual; but this year is bringing mass deluges on an unprecedented scale. Is this due to a massive increase in annual rainfall, as they're currently experiencing in north Texas? Is Pakistan being hit by several monsoons in rapid succession? Did someone blow up Pakistan's largest dams? Are glaciers in the Himalayas melting more quickly than usual due to climate change? Are all of the above factors contributing to the current crisis? I don't know; but, while reading up on this, I am donating to a charity or two who are on the ground in Pakistan right now, providing emergency disaster relief.
